Modern Dental Crown Technology
"Excellent visit with The Reno Dentist today. Dr. Sykes and his assistant Tiffany took excellent care of my dental needs, explained the process of the crown and provided aftercare instructions. I found it intriguing that they make the crowns on site and Tiffany allowed me to watch the process of how my crown was made. I am truly thankful for Dr. Sykes, Tiffany and The Reno Dentist staff."

At our practice, we value your time and strive to make each visit to our office as efficient and convenient as possible. Now when you visit The Reno Dentist for a dental crown or dental bridge procedure, you can take advantage of our CEREC crown technology right here in Reno.
What is CEREC
CEREC is a technological innovation that allows us to create beautiful porcelain crowns right here in our office near Spanish Springs and Sparks, NV. The CEREC machine uses a computer and special software, combined with a milling machine to craft crowns based on each patient’s specifications. Without CEREC technology, your dental crown would have to be crafted in a dental laboratory, and a temporary crown would have to be placed. Using CEREC, patients can have their crown complete in one appointment, and won’t have to wear a temporary crown at all.
The Benefits of CEREC Same Day Porcelain Crowns
- CEREC Same Day Porcelain Crowns can be created in only one appointment.
- CEREC utilizes the latest technology to create beautiful, perfect crown restorations.
- Our CEREC technology creates crowns using only the highest quality porcelain materials.
- CEREC technology allows our procedures to be more efficient, and allows us to save our patients more time.
When you need a crown placed, we can take a mold of your teeth and enter the data for your crown into our CEREC system. While we continue your regular appointment, the CEREC machine will work, crafting a porcelain crown using the highest quality materials that will fit your needs perfectly. By the time your teeth are prepared for crown placement, your crown will be finished, and you will be able to walk out of our office with a permanent crown after only one treatment.
Caring for Your CEREC Porcelain Dental Crowns
A newly crowned tooth may be sensitive for a few days following your crown placement. Try to avoid chewy, sticky, or hard to chew foods. Continue brushing your teeth twice and flossing once daily. Fluoride mouthwash can also be helpful for teeth cleaning and a sensitivity toothpaste can help with hot and cold sensitivity. Otherwise, it’s recommended that you exercise good dental hygiene as normal and continue to keep up with regular cleanings and exams.
"A truly amazing experience. They are state of the art. I needed a rather tricky Crown. They used a Laser to trim my gums and I was able to watch a computer guided machine craft my Crown and cook it in just 45 minutes. I was in and out with a new Crown in 90 minutes. My past experience involved clay molds and 2 week wait for my impression to be sent off and crafted off site. The staff was attentive and professional and I spent almost no time waiting to be treated when I arrived."
